Your Practice Already Offers Financing. Is It Enough?

Most practices already offer patient financing. The better question is what it costs, where it falls short, and what happens when a patient needs another option.

If your practice offers elective, cosmetic, dental, vision, regenerative, or other patient-pay services, chances are you already have a financing option available.

That's a good thing.

But having patient financing doesn't necessarily mean every patient, procedure, or situation is being served as well as it could be.

So rather than asking “Do you offer financing?”, I think there are better questions to ask.

What Is Your Current Program Really Costing You?

Patient financing can help turn treatment plans into scheduled procedures, but the economics matter.

Depending on the program and financing terms, merchant or provider fees can take a meaningful percentage out of the practice's revenue.

That may be worth it to save a treatment that otherwise wouldn't happen.

But if another option could accomplish the same thing while allowing the practice to keep more of what it earns, that's worth knowing.

What Happens When Your First Option Doesn't Work?

No single financing program is going to be the perfect solution for every patient or every service.

Patients have different credit profiles. They need different payment structures. And some procedures may present limitations with certain financing options.

The goal doesn't necessarily have to be replacing the financing program you already use.

It may simply be having a better alternative option when the first one doesn't fit.

That's one less reason for a patient who wants to move forward to walk away.

What About the Practice Behind the Patient?

This is where I believe the relationship can become much more valuable.

Your financing needs don't stop with your patients.

You may eventually need capital for new equipment, working capital, an acquisition, expansion, commercial real estate, or another investment in the practice.

Instead of another faceless financing program, what if you had a local resource who could help with both?

Someone you can actually call who understands your practice, your patient financing options, and the broader commercial financing needs of the business.

Something New Is Coming

NextLink Capital is preparing to introduce a new, exclusive patient financing solution for practices throughout Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas, and we're excited about what it can add to the options practices already have.

If you're opening a new practice or considering patient financing for the first time, you're in the right place too. We can help you evaluate your options from the beginning rather than simply choosing the first program presented to you.

And if you already offer financing, we're not asking you to replace what works.

We're interested in where it doesn't.
